This was my first time using a cat sitter and I feel very lucky that I got Isha. Charlie is a rescue cat, and kennels were just not working out for her, so this was the perfect solution. Getting daily pictures, and coming back to a happy cat means that I will definitely contact Isha again when I go away. She's clearly a massive cat lover, so I can't recommend her enough.

  • Become a Cat Sitter

Cat sitters can offer daily visits or overnight stays. All sitters can set their own fees.

Cat Sitting Advice - FAQs

How does cat sitting work?

At Cat in a Flat we know how worrying it can be to entrust your cats (sorry, your babies) welfare to someone else. That’s why we’ve made it easy to find a reliable cat sitter to look after your kitty in your own home. It's a great alternative to catteries

Here's how to find the best cat sitter for you:

  1. Enter your postcode to be matched to trustworthy cat sitters in your area.
  2. Read the vetted cat sitters profiles and reviews
  3. Create an account for free and chat to your selected cat carers
  4. Invite your favourite cat minder around for a free meet and greet
  5. Once you’re happy with your choice of cat sitter, confirm the booking to include our cat sitting insurance.

How to judge a good cat sitter

You and the ‘boss’ will want to find the purr-fect cat carer, so we always recommend that you meet the cat sitter before you go away. That way, you, your cat and the sitter all get to know each other.

During this free introductory visit, watch how the cat sitter interacts with your cat. First impressions are important. But also bear in mind that if your cat is shy, he may need some time to trust this new face.

A good cat sitter will ask the right questions, collecting that vital cat care information as part of the cat sitting service. They will want to know about feeding, the litter tray, and about your furry friend too – where he likes to hide, how he likes to be played with. Much more personal than a cattery! As an owner, have the important information listed on your profile page or ready to share at the free meet and greet. If you have any other requests such as collecting mail, or watering plants, a good pet sitter will happily help with these too.

What to expect from a drop in cat sitting service?

Cat in a Flat cat sitters offer a selection of affordable cat sitting services tailored to suit each individual cat's needs and routine. You can book a local cat sitter to come and check on Mr Whiskers once or twice a day.

Daily cat sitting services can start from £8 per visit and should last 20-40 minutes. This allows your kitty to get fresh food & water, a cleared litter tray, lots of affection and a chance to play. You can also look forward to reassuring daily updates and photographs of your cat while you’re away.

Avoid the stress of a cattery and return home to happy, relaxed kitties enjoying the comforts of their own home.

What does the overnight pet sitting service involve?

Our overnight cat sitting service is perfect for cats who need a little bit of extra care and attention.

The cat sitter will stay at your house, this is usually for a 12hr period from 7pm - 7am each day giving you reassurance that a cat-loving carer will be at your furry friend’s side from evening to morning. An over-night cat sitter also provides peace of mind that your property isn’t left empty for long periods of time.

All of our vetted and insured pet sitters go beyond feeding your cat and changing the litter tray. Playing and socialising with your kitty is just as important, as is sending you daily updates and photographs.

Cat in a Flat’s overnight cat sitters offer a range of tailored cat care options from medication to extra cuddles depending on your kitties needs. So be sure to discuss your cat sitting requirements during your free meet and greet.
